Test Background
Salt spray test is an environmental test that mainly uses artificial simulated salt spray environmental conditions created by salt spray testing equipment to assess the corrosion resistance of products or metal materials. The judgment of salt spray test results is a judgment on product quality. Whether its judgment results are correct and reasonable is the key to correctly measuring the salt spray corrosion resistance quality of products or metals. The infrared detector salt spray test can determine the ability of the infrared detector to resist salt spray corrosion.

Test method
1. The salt solution is prepared with sodium chloride (chemically pure or above) and distilled or deionized water. The resistivity of the water used is not less than 500 Ω·m, and its concentration is 5% ± 1% (weight ratio). The collected liquid after atomization shall not be reused except for the part blocked by the baffle.
2. The pH value of the salt solution before atomization is between 6.5 and 7.2 (35°C). It is allowed to use chemically pure or above dilute hydrochloric acid or sodium hydroxide aqueous solution to adjust the pH value, but the concentration still needs to comply with regulations.
3. The temperature in the effective space of the test chamber is 35±2℃.
4. Use a funnel with an area of 80 cm2 to collect the salt spray sedimentation volume after continuous atomization for 16 hours. The sedimentation rate at any position in the effective space is 1.0 to 2. 0 mL/h.
5. This test uses continuous atomization, and the test duration is 16, 24, 48, and 96 hours. The specific values are specified by relevant specifications.
6. When atomizing, it is necessary to prevent oil, dust and other impurities as well as the temperature and humidity of the spray air from affecting the test conditions of the effective space.
