Test Background
The main impacts of a mold-growing environment on marine instruments include: appearance damage, odor, and moisture; increased conductivity of insulators; affecting circuit frequency-impedance characteristics; reduced mechanical strength, changes in physical properties; acidic erosion, electrolysis, aging, etc. These effects can cause electrical failures, physical damage, mechanical failures and other malfunctions in marine instruments.
The marine instrument mold growth test can evaluate the degree of mold growth in marine instruments and components and the impact of mold growth on the performance and function of marine instruments and components.
The Zhongke Testing and Reliability Experiment Center has environmental testing capabilities for various marine instruments and provides professional environmental testing services such as mold growth testing for marine instrument products.
Scope of tests
Marine instruments are classified according to different environmental conditions of use and are divided into four categories:
1. Instruments for shore stations: such as marine instruments installed and used on coastal stations, offshore fixed platforms and islands.
2. Instruments for ships and buoys: such as marine instruments used on various types of ships, buoys and other mobile offshore platforms.
3. Underwater instruments: such as marine instruments or sensors used in seawater.
4. Satellite and aeronautical instruments: The environmental testing of such instruments should adopt other environmental testing standards based on the characteristics of the environmental conditions in which they are used.
Long mold rating
Level 0: No mold growth on the test sample
Level 1: Scattered, sparse or very localized mold growth
Level 2: The mold in the test sample spreads intermittently or the colonies are loosely distributed, or the entire test sample has hyphae extending continuously, but the surface of the test sample under the mold is still visible
Level 3: Mold grows in large quantities, and the test sample has visible structural changes
Level 4: Heavy mold growth
