Test Background
The main effects of the environment on marine instruments include corrosion, cracking, deformation, embrittlement, moisture adsorption and absorption, oxidation, etc. These effects can lead to changes in the physical or chemical properties of materials and components, causing malfunctions in marine instruments.
Zhongke Testing Reliability Experiment Center has environmental testing capabilities for various marine instruments, and provides professional environmental testing services such as low-temperature testing, high-temperature testing, temperature change testing, and vibration testing for marine instrument products.
Scope of tests
Marine instruments are classified according to different environmental conditions of use and are divided into four categories:
1. Instruments for shore stations: Including marine instruments installed and used on coastal stations, offshore fixed platforms and islands, marked as "Category A".
2. Instruments for ships and buoys: including marine instruments used on various types of ships, buoys and other mobile offshore platforms. This type of instrument usually has to withstand strong vibration, impact, collision, tilt and swing during use, transportation and storage.
3. Underwater instruments: including marine instruments or sensors used in seawater. Such instruments may be installed or moored on ships, buoys, towed bodies or seabed platforms, or they may float or sink in seawater. During use, transportation and storage, they usually have to withstand water pressure, temperature changes, salt spray, vibration, impact, collision, tilt and swing, etc. Marked "Category C".
4. Satellite and aviation instruments: marked as "Category D". The environmental test of this type of instrument should adopt other environmental test standards based on the characteristics of the environmental conditions in which it is used.
