Marine instrument cryogenic test

Marine instrument cryogenic test-Reliability Testing-

Test Background

The main effects of low-temperature environments on marine instruments include: embrittlement, icing, viscosity increase and solidification, reduction in mechanical strength, physical shrinkage, etc. These effects can lead to insulation damage, cracking, mechanical failure of marine instruments, increased wear and tear due to shrinkage or reduction of mechanical strength and lubrication performance, and failure and damage of seals and sealing plates.
Zhongke Testing Reliability Experiment Center has environmental testing capabilities for various marine instruments, and provides professional low-temperature testing and other environmental testing services for marine instrument products.

Scope of tests

Marine instruments are classified according to different environmental conditions of use and are divided into four categories:
1. Instruments for shore stations: such as marine instruments installed and used on coastal stations, offshore fixed platforms and islands.
2. Instruments for ships and buoys: such as marine instruments used on various types of ships, buoys and other mobile offshore platforms.
3. Underwater instruments: such as marine instruments or sensors used in seawater.
4. Satellite and aeronautical instruments: The environmental testing of such instruments should adopt other environmental testing standards based on the characteristics of the environmental conditions in which they are used.

test temperature

Unless otherwise specified, the low temperature test temperature of marine instruments should be selected from the following regulations:
a) (-2±3)℃;
b) (-10±3)℃;
c) (-20±3)℃;
d) (-55±3)℃;
e) The minimum temperature of the environment in which marine instruments are used.
The test sample should last for at least 2 hours after reaching temperature stability, or be carried out in accordance with relevant specifications (such as product standards, test programs or test contracts, etc.).

Test standard:

GB/T 32065.1 -2015 Marine Instrument Environmental Test Methods Part 1: General Provisions
GB/T 32065.2-2015 Marine instrument environmental test methods Part 2: Low temperature test
GB/T 2423.1-2008 Environmental testing of electrical and electronic products Part 2: Test methods Test A: Low temperature
GB/T 2951.14-2008 General test methods for insulation and sheath materials of electric and optical cables Part 14: General test methods Low temperature test
GB/T 12085.2-2022 Optics and photonics Environmental test methods Part 2: Low temperature, high temperature, and damp heat
