Test Background
The purpose of the water dripping and rain test of optical and photonic instruments is to study the degree of change of the optical, climatic, mechanical, chemical and electrical (including electrostatic) properties of the sample affected by dripping water and rain.
Zhongke Testing Reliability Experiment Center has environmental testing capabilities for various optical and photonics instruments, and provides professional environmental testing services such as drip tests and rain tests for optical and photonics instrument products.
Scope of tests
All optical and photonic instruments including ancillary components from other fields (such as mechanical, chemical and electronic equipment)
Test method
1. Dripping test:
For drip testers, select the size of the tester and drip plate according to the size of the sample. For large specimens that require a drip plate of more than 1 m, they can be divided into parts and tested one by one. The water level above the drip plate should be adjusted through a float valve and/or overflow hole.
To prevent the drip plate holes from clogging during testing, demineralized or deionized water should be used. The distance between the drip plate and the specimen should not be less than 1 m. It should be ensured that every point on the specimen is exposed to dripping water during the test.
2. Rain test:
Use tap water (drinking water) or water prepared according to regulations. The sprinkler heads should meet the specified requirements, and the installation and arrangement of the rotating sprinkler heads should ensure that the rain rate is evenly distributed across the spray surface. The measurement method of rain rate is as specified.
Select the number of nozzles according to the size of the sample. The nozzles should be placed at least 2m away from the highest surface of the sample. The nozzles should be arranged according to regulations.
