Fiber optic constant damp heat test-Reliability Testing-

Test Background

The simultaneous effects of high temperature and high humidity will accelerate the corrosion of metal parts and the aging of insulating materials. If water vapor penetrates into the tube core, it will also cause changes in electrical parameters. The purpose of the constant humidity and heat test for optical fiber products is to determine the adaptability of Class A1 multi-mode optical fiber and Class B single-mode optical fiber under high temperature and high humidity environmental conditions that may occur during actual application, storage and/or transportation.
Zhongke Testing Reliability Experiment Center has environmental testing capabilities for various optical fibers and provides professional constant humidity and heat testing services for optical fiber products.

Scope of tests

Class A1 multi-mode optical fiber, Class B single-mode optical fiber and other optical fiber products.

Test Procedure

1. Test conditions The test process should comply with the specified test temperature, humidity and sample placement time.
2. Measurement: transmission characteristics measurement, mechanical performance measurement
3. Pretreatment If required, the sample should be pretreated in accordance with detailed specifications.
4. Condition adjustment Before conducting benchmark measurements, the test chamber and specimens should be stabilized under the specified standard atmospheric conditions. Adjust the temperature and humidity of the test chamber according to the specified severity to stabilize the sample temperature and maintain the temperature and humidity unchanged within the specified period.
5. Recovery If there are no special requirements, the sample should be recovered under standard atmospheric conditions for more than 12 hours, but not more than 48 hours. The detailed specification may require that measurements be taken during the restoration phase. If so, the detailed specification should specify when and what aspects of the measurements should be taken.
