Test Background
The fiber loss of optical cables that have been laid for many years has increased significantly. This is due to hydrogen penetrating into the optical fiber and interacting with the glass body, resulting in additional absorption loss, commonly known as "hydrogen loss". The hydrogen aging test of optical fiber products can measure the hydrogen loss effect of optical fibers and evaluate the environmental performance of optical fibers.
Zhongke Testing Reliability Experiment Center has environmental testing capabilities for various optical fibers and provides professional hydrogen aging test services for optical fiber products.
Scope of tests
Non-dispersion shifted single-mode optical fiber with extended wavelength range of Bl.3 category, Category B4 single-mode optical fiber and other optical fiber products.
Test Procedure
1. Test conditions: Set the hydrogen partial pressure, temperature and sample placement time of the test environment according to regulations.
2. Measurement of attenuation coefficient
1) Baseline method
2) Alternative method
3. Pretreatment If required, the sample should be pretreated in accordance with detailed specifications.
