Ozone resistance test of elastomer mixtures

Ozone resistance test of elastomer mixtures-Reliability Testing-

Test Background

Ozone resistance test, thermal extension test and mineral oil immersion test of elastomer mixtures are suitable for the insulation and sheathing of elastomer mixture materials for wires, cables and optical cables.
Zhongke Testing Reliability Experiment Center has environmental testing capabilities for various cables and optical cables, and provides professional ozone resistance testing, thermal extension testing, and mineral oil immersion testing services for elastomer hybrid materials.

Scope of tests

The most common types of insulation and sheathing materials for power distribution and communication cables and optical cables, wires and cords, including polymer insulation and sheathing materials for ship and offshore cables and optical cables, as well as insulation and sheathing materials for elastomers, polyvinyl chloride, polyethylene, polypropylene, etc.

Test method

1. Ozone resistance test:
After the specified test time is over, remove the specimen from the test chamber and inspect it using normal or corrected vision without a magnifying glass. There should be no cracks in the 180° bent portion of the insulation specimen farthest from the ligation point. The narrow strip in the middle of the dumbbell specimen shall be free of cracks.
2. Hot extension test:
After bearing the load for 10 minutes at the specified temperature, the intermediate value of the elongation should not be greater than the provisions of the relevant cable product standards; the intermediate value of the increase in the distance between the marked lines after the test piece is taken out of the oven and cooled, as a percentage of the distance before the test piece is placed in the oven, should not be greater than the provisions of the relevant cable product standards.
3. Sheath immersion mineral oil test:
The difference between the median value of the mechanical properties of the five specimens before and after oil immersion and the percentage of the median value of the mechanical properties before oil immersion should not be greater than the provisions of the relevant cable product standards.
