Test Background
The purpose of the salt spray test of composite and metal assemblies is to evaluate the galvanic corrosion resistance of joints and bonded structures between carbon fiber reinforced polymer matrix composites (CFRPs) and metal materials when accompanied by temporary or temporary insulation current.
Zhongke Testing Reliability Experiment Center has environmental testing capabilities for various composite materials and metal assemblies, and provides professional salt spray testing services for composite materials and metal assemblies.
Type of test
Neutral salt spray test NSS
Acetate salt spray test AASS
Copper Accelerated Acetic Salt Spray Test CASS
Test method
1. In order to check the reproducibility and repeatability of the galvanic corrosion performance test results of the same test equipment or similar equipment in different laboratories, verification should be carried out regularly in accordance with regulations.
2. Metal reference specimens made of steel or aluminum should be used to evaluate the corrosion performance of the salt spray chamber.
3. As a supplement to metal reference samples made of steel or aluminum, high-purity zinc reference samples can also be used to evaluate the corrosion performance of the salt spray chamber.
