Airborne Equipment Environmental Testing-Reliability Testing-

Test Background

The purpose of environmental testing of aircraft airborne equipment is to assess the environmental adaptability of aircraft airborne equipment under climatic environmental conditions or mechanical conditions, determine the quality and performance of airborne products, and ensure the safety and reliability of the aircraft.
Zhongke Testing Reliability Experiment Center has the environmental testing capabilities for various aircraft airborne equipment, and provides professional environmental testing services such as waterproof testing, sand and dust testing, mold testing, and salt spray testing for aircraft airborne equipment.

Scope of tests

1. Aviation instruments. Aviation instruments are the general term for all instruments on the aircraft. They are mainly used to measure or adjust the operating status of the aircraft and the working status of the engine. They play a key role in ensuring flight safety and improving flight performance.
2. Aircraft navigation system. Navigation refers to the method or process by which an aircraft determines its position and direction during flight. An aircraft navigation system is a complete set of equipment that determines the position of an aircraft and guides it to fly on a predetermined route.
3. Other equipment. Such as fuel systems, communication systems, voice equipment, etc.

Test Items

Temperature and altitude test, temperature change test, damp heat test, vibration test, waterproof test, sand and dust test, mold test, salt spray test

Sequence of test:

If it is required to obtain the cumulative effect of different tests on the test sample or to use one test sample to conduct multiple tests, the test sequence should be arranged according to the following principles:
a) The damp heat test should be conducted after the temperature and vibration tests to assess whether the moisture-proof design and materials of the equipment have lost their effectiveness during the temperature and vibration tests.
b) The mold test should be carried out before the sand dust and salt spray tests. Sand dust will promote the growth of mold, while salt spray will inhibit the growth of mold, thus affecting the mold growth effect.
c) Altitude (low pressure) test - generally should be done first because it is less destructive. However, to assess whether the temperature and mechanical tests will affect the sealing effect and the integrity of the product structure, this test should be conducted after the temperature and kinetic tests.
d) High and low temperature tests are usually carried out early in the sequence, and temperature change tests are usually carried out after high and low temperature tests.
e) Water resistance tests can be performed in any order.
f) The salt spray test is mostly carried out after other climate tests, especially after mold and damp heat tests, as it has a potentially damaging effect.
g) The sand and dust test should be carried out after the damp heat, mold and salt spray tests. Sand and dust can accumulate dust on test samples and cause severe abrasion, affecting test results.
h) The explosive atmosphere test should be carried out after the mechanics, temperature, altitude (low pressure) and hygrothermal tests, because mechanics, temperature and altitude (low pressure) may reduce the sealing effect and increase the sensitivity of the product to flammable gases.
i) The flammability test shall be carried out after all other tests.
