Geological Instrument Rain Test

Geological Instrument Rain Test-Reliability Testing-

Test Background

The rain test is mainly used to determine: the effectiveness of the protective cover or shell to prevent rain penetration; the ability of the equipment to meet its performance requirements during or after rain exposure; physical damage to the equipment due to rain; whether the rainwater drainage system is effective. The rain test is generally completed in a rain test chamber. The rain test chamber is suitable for artificial rain tests based on natural conditions. There is no rainfall with strong wind speed, and the large amount of water inflow caused by the high temperature of the sample and the temperature difference of rainwater is not considered.
The purpose of the rain test of geological instruments is to determine their adaptability for use in rainy environmental conditions. Zhongke Testing Reliability Experiment Center has environmental testing capabilities for various geological instrument products, and provides professional rain test services for geological instrument products.

Test method

1. Remove dust and oil from the product under test and the watertight joint.
2. The tested surface of the product under test should be installed on the test bench at an angle of 45° to the vertical direction (when conducting vertical tests, the tested surface of the product under test should be at an angle of 90° to the vertical direction).
3. Stop rainfall and remove the product under test from the test bench.
4. Remove external water accumulation on the product under test.
5. Final inspection: Appearance inspection; the writing should be clear and there should be no damage on the surface. After opening the casing, check whether there is water leakage. If not, conduct electrical and/or mechanical performance testing on the product under test in accordance with the technical standards (technical conditions) of the product under test. The test results should comply with the standards.
