Low temperature impact test on coated fabrics

Low temperature impact test on coated fabrics-Reliability Testing-

Test Background

Low-temperature impact of coated fabrics refers to a method for determining the lowest temperature at which a rubber or plastic-coated fabric does not break or crack the coating layer when subjected to specified impact conditions. Rubber or plastic-coated fabrics are used in many low-temperature bending products with or without impact. Data obtained from low-temperature impact tests on coated fabrics can be used to predict the low-temperature performance of these coated fabrics in products under deformation conditions.
Zhongke Testing Environmental Reliability Experiment Center has the capabilities of environmental testing and reliability performance testing of various rubber or plastic coated fabric materials and products, and provides professional low-temperature impact testing services for coated fabrics.

Test method

1. Prepare the thermal insulation tank and bring the device to the required temperature.
2. Measure the thickness of the sample according to the prescribed method.
3. Clamp the sample on the fixture and immerse it at the required temperature for 3.0 min ± 0.5 min. Unless otherwise specified, the side to be tested shall face the impact arm.
4. After soaking at the test temperature for the specified time, record the temperature and perform a single impact.
5. For each test, the impactor speed needs to be corrected. The impact speed should be 1.8 m/s~2.1 m/s.
6. Take out the specimens from the slot, bend each specimen 180° on a 6 mm diameter rod core in the same direction as the bending caused by the impact, and then use a five-fold magnifying glass to check whether it is damaged. Damage is defined as any crack or crack in the coating visible when viewed under five times magnification.
7. Use a new sample for each test temperature.
