Marine equipment salt spray test

Marine equipment salt spray test-Reliability Testing-

Test Background

The ship equipment salt spray test is to assess the salt spray corrosion resistance of the complete machine, equipment, components, materials and protective layers exposed to atmospheric conditions and to evaluate the quality and uniformity of the metal protective layer.
Zhongke Testing Environmental Reliability Experiment Center has various ship equipment environmental test equipment and has salt spray test capabilities. It provides professional ship equipment salt spray test services for ship machinery, equipment, components, materials, protective layers and other equipment.

Environmental Effects

There are roughly three types of effects experienced by ship materials when exposed to aqueous salt spray atmospheric environments: corrosion effects, electrical effects and physical effects.
1. Corrosion effect: Corrosion caused by electrochemical reaction, accelerated stress corrosion, corrosion caused by acid-base solution formed by ionization of salt in water.
2. Electrical effect: Salt deposition damages electronic equipment and causes corrosion of conductive layers, insulating materials and metals.
3. Physical effects: The moving parts of mechanical components and assemblies are blocked or stuck, and the paint layer blisters due to electrolysis.

Test requirements

1. The whole machine test shall not be less than 48 hours.
2. The test times for commonly used coatings are 48 h, 96 h, and 144 h.
