Test Background
Protection level, also known as IP protection level or dust-proof and waterproof level, is the IEC 60529 standard drafted by the IEC (International Electrotechnical Commission). This standard classifies electronic and electrical products according to their dust-proof and waterproof capabilities. my country's current IP level testing standard is GB/T 4208-2017.
According to the different protection capabilities of the products, the IP protection level of the product is generally marked on the product nameplate or manual. The more common ones are IP2X, IP3X, IPX7, IP43, IP44, IP45, IP54, IP55, IP65, IP66, IP67, IP68, etc.
Zhongke Testing Environmental Reliability Experiment Center has various climate environment simulation test equipment, has IP level testing capabilities, and provides professional IP level testing services for various types of automobiles, motorcycle parts, low-voltage electrical appliances, motors, instruments and other products.
APPLICATION RANGE
The dustproof grade test mainly evaluates the sealing performance of automobiles, motorcycle parts, low-voltage electrical appliances, motors, instruments, meters, electronic products, lamps, mobile phones, and electrical products in sand and dust environments, as well as the sealing performance during use, storage, and transportation in sand and dust environments.
The waterproof rating test is used to determine the effectiveness of a product's protective cover or case in preventing rain penetration, whether the device performs up to standard during or after exposure to rain, physical damage to the device due to exposure to rain, and whether the rainwater drainage system is effective.
Application Scenarios
IP2X, IP3X: These levels are generally designed to protect people’s arms and fingers from entering the equipment, causing personal injury;
IP44, IP45: Mainly suitable for indoor electrical cabinets, control cabinets, distribution boxes and other products that require dustproof and waterproofing;
IP54, IP55: Mainly suitable for outdoor electrical cabinets, control cabinets, distribution boxes and other products that require dustproof and waterproofing;
IP65, IP66: This level is generally for products that have high dustproof requirements and can prevent the impact of large water flows, such as flow meters, detectors, various instruments, etc.;
IP67, IP68: Mainly suitable for products such as mobile phones and precision instruments that have very high requirements for dustproof and waterproof capabilities, because these products are completely sealed against dust and water ingress.
