PoHS testing

PoHS: Prohibition on Certain Hazardous Substances in Consumer Products, Chinese translation is "Prohibition on Certain Hazardous Substances in Consumer Products". On June 8, 2007, Norway notified the WTO and proposed the requirement to "ban certain hazardous chemicals in consumer products", saying that it would restrict 18 substances in consumer products, known as PoHS regulations.

Norway's pre-announced "Prohibition of Specific Hazardous Substances in Consumer Products" came into effect on January 1, 2008, covering almost all consumer products.

The new regulations recommend restricting 18 substances, of which only 2 (lead and cadmium) are included in the EU RoHS directive, and 16 substances are prohibited from use. In addition to electronic and electrical consumer goods, it also includes clothes, bags, construction, toys, etc. This regulation does not apply to food, food packaging, fertilizers, medical equipment and cigarettes, as well as transport vehicles, fixtures on transport vehicles, tires and similar transport vehicle accessories.

18 restricted substances: hexabromocyclododecane (HBCDD), tetrabromobisphenol A (TBBPA), carbon chlorinated paraffin (C14-C17 MCCP), arsenic and its compounds (As), lead and its compounds (Pb), cadmium and its compounds (Cd), tributyltin (TBT), Triphenyltin (TPT), dihexyl phthalate (DEHP), pentachlorphenol, musk xylene, musk ketone, bis (hydrogenated tallow alkyl) dimethylamine chloride (DTDMAC), distearyl dimethylamine chloride (DODMAC/DSDMAC), di(hardened tallow) Dimethylamine chloride (DHTDMAC), bisphenol A (BPA), perfluorooctanoate (PFOA), and triclosan are substances to be restricted that are persistent, bioaccumulative, and/or toxic.
In August 2008, after reviewing numerous suggestions, the Norwegian Pollution Control Board (SFT) reduced the 18 banned chemical substances in the initial proposal to 10 and proposed revisions to the content limits of the 10 hazardous substances and the scope of exempted products to ensure effective protection of health and the environment. The revised 10 specific hazardous substances include: arsenic, lead, cadmium, hexabromocyclododecane, medium-chain chlorinated paraffins, xylene musk, perfluorooctanoic acid, bisphenol A, pentachlorophenol, and triclosan.
