PBB testProject Overview

Polybrominated biphenyls are a type of persistent organic pollutants (POPs). They have a long residual period in the environment, are difficult to decompose, are not easy to volatilize, and are easy to accumulate in organisms and human fat. The main harm to the human body is affecting the immune system, causing cancer, and damaging the brain and nervous tissue. Photochemical degradation is one of the important fates of polybrominated biphenyls in the environment.

Zhongke Testing provides polybrominated biphenyl testing services for various industrial materials to help Chinese-made products enter the EU market in compliance with regulations.

polybrominated biphenylsTest Method

detection methods generally include gas chromatography-mass spectrometry (GC-MS), high-resolution gas chromatography-high-resolution mass spectrometry (HRGC-HRMS), and high-performance liquid chromatography (HPLC). The latter is suitable for the testing of difficult-to-volatile flame retardants (such as decabromobiphenyl) and makes up for the weaknesses of the GC-MS method. Sample purification and analysis methods include Soxhlet extraction or rapid solvent extraction, silica gel column, and alumina separation.
