Nonwoven breathability test

Good air permeability is one of the important reasons why nonwovens are widely used. Taking related products in the medical industry as an example, if the air permeability of non-woven fabrics is poor, the adhesive tape made of adhesive tape cannot meet the normal inhalation of the skin, causing the user to have allergic symptoms. The poor air permeability of medical tapes such as adhesive tape can cause microorganisms to multiply near the wound, leading to wound infection. The poor air permeability of protective clothing will greatly affect the comfort of wearing.
Like medical products, the poor air permeability of other non-woven products will also bring many adverse factors to their use. Therefore, strengthening the air permeability test of non-woven fabrics is one of the important measures to ensure that related products meet the use requirements. Air permeability refers to the rate of airflow vertically passing through a specified test area within a certain period of time under a specified pressure difference.
The nonwoven air permeability test can determine the air permeability of nonwoven fabrics and is applicable to various nonwoven fabrics, including treated or untreated laminated composite nonwoven fabrics.

1. Nonwovens are divided into disposable application nonwovens and durable nonwovens according to application requirements.
2. Nonwovens are divided according to the production process: spunlaced nonwovens, heat-sealed nonwovens, pulp airlaid nonwovens, wet nonwovens, spunbond nonwovens, meltblown nonwovens, needle punched nonwovens, stitchbonded nonwovens, and hydrophilic nonwovens.
3. Nonwovens are divided according to their application scope: geosynthetic materials, nonwoven filter materials, medical and health nonwovens, agricultural nonwovens, clothing nonwovens, home decoration, daily necessities and packaging materials, etc.

Under the specified pressure difference, test the flow rate of air flow vertically through the specified area of the sample within a certain period of time, and calculate the air permeability.
