Anti-fouling paint resistance reduction performance test

Anti-fouling paint resistance reduction performance test-Physical Performance Testing-

Test Background

Antifouling paint is a special coating applied to the bottom of ships and marine underwater facilities. Generally, the paint is installed on top of the anti-rust paint on the bottom of ships and is the outermost layer. Its main function is to gradually release poisonous materials through the seepage, diffusion or hydrolysis of poisonous materials in the paint film, so as to prevent marine attached organisms from adhering to the bottom of ships or marine underwater facilities.
Drag reduction performance refers to the ability to reduce the frictional resistance between the coating surface and seawater. The resistance reduction performance test of antifouling paint can be used to measure the resistance reduction performance of antifouling paint in the laboratory.
Zhongke Testing Reliability Experiment Center has the capability of reliability testing of various paints and provides professional resistance reduction performance testing services for antifouling paints.

Scope of tests

is suitable for abrasive, self-polishing and easy-to-remove (FRC) antifouling paints.

Test method

By measuring the torque of a cylindrical sample coated with an antifouling coating when it rotates at a certain speed under seawater turbulence, the resistance at the interface between the antifouling coating and seawater at a certain speed is obtained.
At the same time, combined with the navigation simulation test, the resistance changes of the coating at the same speed before and after seawater erosion can be compared to measure and evaluate the resistance reduction performance and resistance reduction rate of the antifouling paint.

Test standard:

GB/T 7791-2014 Test method for resistance reduction performance of antifouling paint
