Test Background
Geotextiles and geotextile-related products refer to permeable polymer materials used in geotechnical engineering and civil engineering, including woven geotextiles, knitted geotextiles, nonwoven geotextiles, geogrids, geonets, geocomposites and other products. Geotextiles mainly have the functions of protection, isolation, filtration, reinforcement and drainage in engineering.
Because geotextiles have economic and technical advantages such as high strength, flexibility, good corrosion resistance, low cost, convenient transportation and construction, strong adaptability, and easy quality assurance, they have been widely used in many projects such as slope protection, dams, channel regulation, retaining walls, soft foundation treatment, highway and railway subgrades, airport runways, various reservoirs, etc., involving many fields including water conservancy, electricity, transportation, construction, etc.
The geotextile antioxidant test can determine the antioxidant properties of polypropylene and polyethylene geotextiles and related products. Scope of tests
1. Geotextiles can be mainly divided into woven geotextiles and non-woven geotextiles.
2. Geotextiles can also be divided into three series: needle-punched non-woven geotextiles, needle-punched non-woven fabrics and PE film composite geotextiles, and non-woven and woven composite geotextiles.
3. According to the different raw material fibers used, it can be divided into short fiber geotextiles, short fiber needle punched geotextiles, filament woven geotextiles, anti-seepage geotextiles, composite geotextiles, warp knitted composite geotextiles, polypropylene geotextiles, woven geotextiles, singed geotextiles, polyester filament geotextiles, etc.
Test method
The sample is suspended in a conventional laboratory non-forced ventilation oven and placed at a specified temperature for a certain period of time. Polypropylene is heated and aged at 110°C, and polyethylene is heated and aged at 100°C.
Tensile tests were conducted on the control sample and the aged sample after heating to compare their breaking strength and elongation at break.
