Test Background
Geotextiles are widely used in geotechnical engineering. During on-site construction, geotextiles are damaged due to local forces. If large particles or riprap fall or penetrate into the geotextile during construction, the geotextile will be damaged. Therefore, the performance index of geotextile resistance to impact penetration is a practical indicator of geotextile quality and can be used to test or check whether the geotextile meets the requirements of on-site construction.
The geotextile dynamic perforation test can measure the resistance of the geotextile and its related products to the penetration of steel cones dropped from a fixed height. The penetration of the falling cone represents the degree of damage to the product caused by falling sharp stones falling on the surface of the geotextile.
Zhongke Testing Reliability Experiment Center has the capability of reliability testing of various geotextiles and provides professional dynamic perforation test services for geotextiles and related products.
Scope of tests
1. Geotextiles can be mainly divided into woven geotextiles and non-woven geotextiles.
2. Geotextiles can also be divided into three series: needle-punched non-woven geotextiles, needle-punched non-woven fabrics and PE film composite geotextiles, and non-woven and woven composite geotextiles.
3. According to the different raw material fibers used, it can be divided into short fiber geotextiles, short fiber needle punched geotextiles, filament woven geotextiles, anti-seepage geotextiles, composite geotextiles, warp knitted composite geotextiles, polypropylene geotextiles, woven geotextiles, singed geotextiles, polyester filament geotextiles, etc.
Test method
Clamp the geotextile sample horizontally in the clamping ring. A stainless steel cone of specified mass was dropped on the specimen from a height of 500 mm. The falling cone penetrated the specimen, causing holes in the specimen.
Insert a graduated small angle cone into the hole to measure the degree of penetration.
