Geotextile creep test

Geotextile creep test-Physical Performance Testing-

Test Background

One of the main functions of geotextiles in engineering structures is reinforcement. An important characteristic of geotextiles is that their deformation is a function of time under constant load, that is, they exhibit obvious creep characteristics. The geotextile used as a reinforcement should have good creep properties. Otherwise, the geotextile will deform greatly under long-term load, which will cause the structure to lose stability. The geotextile may even undergo ultimate fracture, leading to the collapse of the engineering structure. Therefore, it is necessary to study the creep behavior of geotextiles.
The geotextile creep test can determine the tensile creep and tensile creep rupture properties of geotextiles and related products. It is suitable for products that may cause structural collapse due to premature destruction or because their creep affects the strengthening effect in the structure.
Zhongke Testing Reliability Experiment Center has reliability testing capabilities for various geotextiles and provides professional creep testing services for geotextiles and related products.

Scope of tests

1. Geotextiles can be mainly divided into woven geotextiles and non-woven geotextiles.
2. Geotextiles can also be divided into three series: needle-punched non-woven geotextiles, needle-punched non-woven fabrics and PE film composite geotextiles, and non-woven and woven composite geotextiles.
3. According to the different raw material fibers used, it can be divided into short fiber geotextiles, short fiber needle punched geotextiles, filament woven geotextiles, anti-seepage geotextiles, composite geotextiles, warp knitted composite geotextiles, polypropylene geotextiles, woven geotextiles, singed geotextiles, polyester filament geotextiles, etc.

Test method

1. Tensile creep performance test
Under specified temperature and humidity environmental conditions, a constant static load is applied to the specimen. The load is distributed evenly over the entire width of the specimen. The elongation of the specimen is recorded continuously or at specified time intervals, and the load is maintained for 1000 h. If the sample breaks in less than 1000 h, record the break time.
2. Tensile creep rupture test
Under specified temperature and humidity environmental conditions, a constant static load is applied to the specimen. The load is distributed evenly over the entire width of the specimen. This load is maintained until the specimen breaks, and the breaking time is recorded by a system that stops timing when the specimen breaks.
