Test Background

Clothing is a necessity in people's daily lives. In order to ensure the comfort of wearing it, textiles generally need to use a coating process, that is, one or more layers of polymer glue are coated on the fabric to form a thin film on the surface of the fabric. This thin film not only improves the hydrophilicity of the fabric and allows sweat to be quickly eliminated, but also keeps the body dry and comfortable.
Coating peel strength refers to the force required to separate the combined layers that make up a fabric. The coated fabric peel test determines its peel strength properties.
Zhongke Testing Reliability Experiment Center has the capability of reliability testing of various coated fabrics and provides professional peeling test services for coated fabrics.

Scope of tests

PA coating, PU coating, anti-velvet coating, PA white glue coating, PU white glue coating, PA silver glue coating, PU silver glue coating, pearlescent coating, flame retardant coating, etc.

Test method

Under the specified conditions, peel off the sample coating and the base fabric for a certain length at a constant speed, and record the peeling curve during the sample peeling process to calculate the peeling strength of the sample.
There are mainly five situations in the peeling state:
1) Complete peeling: a peeling state in which no coating fragments remain on the base fabric when the fabric coating is peeled off.
2) Incomplete peeling: a peeling state in which part of the film is torn when the fabric coating is peeled off, and residual fragments are still adhered to the base fabric.
3) Delamination peeling: A peeling state in which one or more films of a multi-layer coating remain on the base fabric.
4) Base fabric peeling: During the peeling process, the peeling strength of the coating is greater than the strength of the base fabric, causing the base fabric to break.
5) Fabric delamination: During the peeling process, due to the tearing or delamination of the base fabric (especially when non-woven fabric is used as the base fabric), part of the thin layer or the entire fabric layer remains adhered to the coating.
