Test Background

Sintered metal porous materials are a functional material that is developing rapidly at present. It has the advantages of good permeability, adjustable pore size, corrosion resistance, high temperature resistance, and high strength. It can be made into filters, separation membranes, silencers, catalyst carriers, battery electrodes, flame retardant and explosion-proof materials, and has been widely used in atomic energy, petrochemical, metallurgy, machinery, medicine, environmental protection and other industries.
The tensile strength test of sintered metal porous materials can determine the damping properties of sintered metal porous materials.

Scope of tests

is suitable for sintered metal porous materials produced by powder metallurgy methods, including sintered metal fiber porous materials, sintered metal mesh porous materials, sintered metal powder porous materials and sintered metal foam porous materials.

Test method

1. The damping performance is measured using the half-power broadband method. The lath-shaped sample is installed vertically, with the upper end rigidly fixed and the lower end free, forming a cantilever beam test structure.
2. The test system consists of two parts: excitation and detection. The signal generator generates a random signal and passes through the power amplifier to excite the electromagnetic exciter. The electromagnetic exciter applies excitation force to the sample through the eccentric magnetic moment.
3. The detection sensor detects the vibration response signal of the sample, which is amplified by the amplifier and sent to the analyzer. The analyzer calculates the damping coefficient of the sample based on the half-power broadband method, and uses it to represent the damping performance of the material.
