90°flexion test of sole material

90°flexion test of sole material-Physical Performance Testing-

Test Background

The 90° flexure test of sole materials can determine the flex crack resistance of sole materials.
Zhongke Testing Reliability Experiment Center has the capability to test the reliability performance of various complete shoes and shoe components, and provides professional 90° flexure test services for sole materials.

Scope of tests

sole materials include two types: natural sole material and synthetic sole material.
Natural base materials include natural base leather, bamboo, wood, etc., and synthetic base materials include rubber, plastic, rubber-plastic composite materials, recycled leather, elastic cardboard, etc.

Test method

1. The soles will crack due to repeated flexion during wearing. The 90° flexion test is a method to determine the resistance of sole materials to such cracks.
2. After cutting a small incision vertically with a chisel, the sole material is repeatedly flexed (90±2)° around the mandrel. The growth rate of the incision can measure the tendency of the sole material to crack.

Test standard:

HG/T 2411-2006 90° Flexure Test Method for Sole Materials
ISO 4643: 1992 Plastic molded footwear Specification for polyvinyl chloride industrial boots
