Test Background

Rubber shoe sole flexure test can determine the flexural properties of rubber shoe soles, rubber soles, rubber-plastic cold-bonded shoe soles, rubber-plastic sandals soles and injection molded shoe soles.

Scope of tests

rubber shoe soles use rubber as the main raw material. The rubber sole raw materials can be roughly divided into pure natural rubber or artificial synthetic rubber.
Man-made artificial rubber is divided into wear-resistant rubber, environmentally friendly rubber, air rubber, sticky rubber, hard rubber, and carbon-added rubber.

Test method

In actual use of rubber shoes, frequent flexing of the soles is one of the main reasons for product damage. During the reciprocating flexion process of rubber shoe soles, the repeated tensile stress generated on the surface of the soles will cause cracks and crack growth in the forefoot of the soles, eventually causing the soles to break.
This test method uses this principle to clamp the forefoot of the shoe sole on a De Mattia flexure testing machine, conduct a flexion test at a certain frequency, and observe whether cracks and crack growth occur when the sole reaches the specified number of flexions. It is used to evaluate the flex resistance of the sole under reciprocating bending conditions.
