Rigid rubber crushing test

Rigid rubber crushing test-Physical Performance Testing-

Test Background

Hard rubber is a hard material made by adding sulfur and other additives to rubber and vulcanizing it. Due to the action of a large amount of vulcanizing agent, it has a high hardness. The crushing strength refers to the maximum stress that the sample can withstand before it breaks or is damaged when the force is uniformly applied across the cross-section of the sample.
The crush test of hard rubber determines its crushing strength. Zhongke Testing Reliability Experiment Center has the ability to test the reliability performance of various hard rubbers and provides professional crushing test services for hard rubbers.

Scope of tests

Hard rubber is mostly used to make hoses, glue sticks, rubber plates, partitions and battery cases. In addition, it is also widely used as protective equipment, insulating gloves, insulating rubber boots, etc.

Test method

1. Measure the height and diameter of the sample to an accuracy of 0.02 mm, and check whether there are any defects on the surface of the sample.
2. Adjust the tensile testing machine, fix the upper and lower pressure plates, and return the dial pointer to zero.
3. Place the sample in the center of the lower platen.
4. Start the tensile testing machine, make the pressure plate approach at a constant speed, apply pressure to the axial direction of the sample, start timing when the sample is pressed, make the sample break or destroy within 30 s ± 15 s, stop the machine immediately and record the time.
5. Return to the pressure plate, take out the sample for inspection, and record the maximum compression force value.

Test standard:

HG/T 3863-2008 Hard rubber Determination of crushing strength
GB/T 2941 General procedures for preparation and adjustment of rubber physical testing specimens
HG/T 2369-1992 Technical conditions for rubber and plastic tensile testing machines
