Test Background
Density refers to the mass of rubber per unit volume at a certain temperature, expressed in megagrams per cubic meter. Density is a physical quantity that reflects an inherent property of matter and is a characteristic of matter. Rubber products have their specific performance and process formula requirements. In the process of rubber products, the physical properties tests that must be tested are nothing more than: tensile strength, tear strength, elongation stress and hardness, wear resistance, fatigue and fatigue damage, elasticity, and elongation at break. The above physical properties are closely related to the density of rubber. The density determination test for vulcanized rubber or thermoplastic rubber determines the density of rubber.

Scope of tests
Vulcanized rubber: flat vulcanizing machine vulcanizing type, vulcanizing tank vulcanizing type, continuous vulcanizing type, special vulcanizing type, etc.
Thermoplastic rubber: polystyrene, polyurethane, polyolefin, polyester, ethylene-vinyl acetate copolymer, ethylene-acrylate copolymer, polyethylene-butyl rubber joint copolymer, etc.
Test method
Method A, use an analytical balance with a horizontal span to measure the mass of the sample in air and water. When the sample is completely immersed in water, its mass in water is less than its mass in air. The reduction in mass is equal to the mass of water displaced by the sample, and the volume of displaced water is equal to the volume of the sample.
Method B is only used for specimens that need to be cut into small pieces to eliminate gaps, such as testing the density of small-hole hoses and insulated cables. Testing equipment is usually a balance and density bottle.
