Test Background
Wear refers to the loss of material surface due to friction. Vulcanized rubber or thermoplastic rubber abrasion testing helps users select appropriate test methods and test conditions for evaluating materials and assessing the suitability of their products with respect to abrasion.

Scope of tests
Vulcanized rubber: flat vulcanizing machine vulcanizing type, vulcanizing tank vulcanizing type, continuous vulcanizing type, special vulcanizing type, etc.
Thermoplastic rubber: polystyrene, polyurethane, polyolefin, polyester, ethylene-vinyl acetate copolymer, ethylene-acrylate copolymer, polyethylene-butyl rubber joint copolymer, etc.
Test method
Wear tests are mainly divided into two types: one uses loose friction materials and the other uses dense friction materials.
1. Loose powdery friction materials are suitable for injection sandblasting machines, which can reasonably simulate the impact of sand or similar friction materials on rubber during use. Loose friction materials can also be applied between two sliding surfaces, conveyor belts and tank liners are examples of areas subject to loose material wear.
2. Dense friction materials can be composed of different materials, but usually include: grinding wheel (glass matrix or elastic matrix) sandpaper or emery cloth and metal knife. The main type of wear is the wear caused by the contact movement between the rubber material and another solid friction material.
