Test Background
Wear resistance refers to the resistance to wear on the surface of a material due to mechanical action. The wear resistance test of vulcanized rubber or thermoplastic rubber can use three methods to measure the wear resistance of rubber: the improved Lamborn abrasion testing machine method, the vertical drive grinding disc method, and the rotating roller abrasion machine method.
Zhongke Testing Reliability Experiment Center has the capability to test the reliability performance of various vulcanized rubbers or thermoplastic rubbers, and provides professional wear-resistant performance testing services for vulcanized rubbers or thermoplastic rubbers.
Scope of tests
Vulcanized rubber: flat vulcanizing machine vulcanizing type, vulcanizing tank vulcanizing type, continuous vulcanizing type, special vulcanizing type, etc.
Thermoplastic rubber: polystyrene, polyurethane, polyolefin, polyester, ethylene-vinyl acetate copolymer, ethylene-acrylate copolymer, polyethylene-butyl rubber joint copolymer, etc.
Test method
1. Improved Lamborn abrasion testing machine method
Wear is caused by the slip caused by the disc-shaped rubber sample and the grinding wheel rotating in opposite directions at different linear speeds within a specified period of time. The outer circumferences of the specimen and the grinding wheel are pressed against each other by a prescribed load, and the two rotating axes are parallel and independently driven.
2. Vertical drive grinding disc method
The wheel-shaped specimen and the grinding disc are vertically pressed together with a certain load and angle. The grinding disc is driven to rotate the sample together, and the sample wears due to the sliding between them.
3. Rotating roller abrasion machine method
Under a specified contact pressure and a certain area, the amount of wear caused by rubbing a cylindrical rubber sample on a certain level of emery cloth and within a certain distance is measured. The specimen may be rotating or non-rotating during the test.
Wear occurs at one end of the cylindrical specimen. The emery cloth bag is attached to the surface of the rotating roller, and the sample is pressed tightly against the roller with emery cloth, causing the sample to move laterally along the roller.
