Vulcanized rubber 180° peel test

Vulcanized rubber 180° peel test-Physical Performance Testing-

Test Background

The vulcanized rubber 180° peel test can measure the 180° peel strength of the bond between vulcanized rubber and metal. Zhongke Testing Reliability Experiment Center has the ability to test the reliability performance of various vulcanized rubbers and provides professional 180° peeling test services for vulcanized rubber.

Scope of tests

In terms of its vulcanization method, vulcanized rubber can be roughly divided into:
1) Flat vulcanizing machine vulcanization: flat tapes such as conveyor belts and transmission belts;
2) Vulcanizing tank vulcanization: rubber hoses, rubber rollers, rubber shoes, air bags, rubber strips, tapes, roller coatings, pipe linings, cables, etc.;
3) Continuous vulcanization: sealing strips, pure rubber hoses, wires and cables, etc.

Test method

1. The sample is made of vulcanized rubber and metal bonded. The open end of the bonded sample is gradually peeled off in parallel along the length direction of the adhered material at a stable speed.
2. The applied force passes through the peeled part of the rubber adhered material and is parallel to the metal plate. The average peel force that the sample can withstand per unit width is the 180° peel strength.
3. The peeling damage type of the sample is represented by the following symbol:
R: Vulcanized rubber damage;
RC: Damage between vulcanized rubber and adhesive;
CP: Adhesive cohesive failure;
M: Destruction between adhesive and metal.
