Bending performance test of metal sheets and strips

Bending performance test of metal sheets and strips-Physical Performance Testing-

Test Background

The bending properties of metal sheets and strips reflect the cold working plasticity of metal sheets under three-point bending loading conditions. Bending performance includes two indicators: minimum bending semi-light and ultimate bending angle. Usually, the test that fails at bending less than 180° is called the bending test, which measures the ultimate bending angle of the plate, and the 180° U-shaped bend is called the bending test, which measures the minimum bending radius of the plate.
The metal material bending performance test can measure the bending performance of metal sheets and thin strips with a thickness of 0.30.mm~4.00mm. Zhongke Testing and Reliability Experiment Center has the capabilities of environmental testing and reliability performance testing of various metal materials, and provides professional bending performance testing services for thin plates and thin strips.

Scope of tests

1. Classification by thickness: thin plate, medium plate, thick plate, extra thick plate
2. Classification by production method: hot-rolled steel plate, cold-rolled steel plate
3. Classification according to surface characteristics: galvanized sheet, hot-dip galvanized sheet, electro-galvanized sheet, tin-plated sheet, composite steel sheet, color-coated steel sheet
4. Classified by use: bridge steel plates, boiler steel plates, shipbuilding steel plates, armor steel plates, automobile steel plates, roofing steel plates, structural steel plates, electrical steel plates (silicon steel sheets), spring steel plates, high-quality carbon structural steel plates

Test method

The three-point bending loading method is used to test the bending performance of the plate, including using an indenter with a specified bottom arc radius, bending the sample to failure, and measuring the ultimate bending angle less than 180° in the bend test, and using indenter and pad molds with different bottom arc radius, bending the sample at 180° until failure, and measuring the minimum bending radius.
