Test Background
The construction performance test of building sealing materials can determine the extrudability of sealing materials and the pot life of multi-component sealing materials, test the extrudability of single-component sealing materials packaged with a gun or film, determine the surface drying performance of caulking sealing materials constructed with an extrusion gun or scraper, determine the sag of non-sag sealing materials and the leveling properties of self-leveling sealing materials.

Scope of tests
1. Sealing materials can be divided into two categories according to their strength: shaped sealing materials (sealing strips, pressure strips, etc.) and non-shaped sealing materials (sealing paste or caulking paste, etc.). Amorphous sealing materials can be divided into plastic sealing paste, elastic-plastic sealing paste and elastic sealing paste according to their raw materials and their properties.
2. Sealing materials can be divided into polysulfide, polyurethane, silicone, chloroprene rubber, butyl rubber, acrylic glue, etc. according to their chemical composition. At present, the three types that are used in large quantities on the market are silicone, polyurethane, and polysulfide.
Test method
1. Determination of extrudability and pot life:
1) Fill the standard instrument with the sealing material to be tested, use compressed air to extrude the sealing material under specified conditions, and weigh the mass of the extruded sealing material.
2) Use compressed air to extrude the sealing material from the original packaging under specified conditions. Weigh the mass of extruded sealing material. Extrudability is reported as the extruded mass of the sealing material per unit time (mass extrusion rate) or the extruded volume (volume extrusion rate).
2. Surface drying time measurement:
Fill the sealing material sample into the mold frame of the specified shape under the specified conditions, and measure its dryness by placing a film on the surface of the sample or touching it with your fingers. Report the time required for the specimen to remain free of adhesion on the film or finger.
3. Liquidity measurement:
1) Under specified conditions, fill the non-sagging sealing material into a mold of specified size, hold it in a vertical or horizontal position for a specified time at different temperatures, and report the length of the sample flowing out of the end of the mold.
2) Under the specified conditions, inject the self-leveling sealing material into the mold of the specified size, keep it in the horizontal position for the specified time, and report the leveling condition of the sample surface.
