Test Background
The peel strength of soft covering materials on furniture surfaces refers to the maximum load required to peel the covering (or facing) layer from the contact surface per unit width or length. The furniture surface soft covering peel strength test can determine the peel strength of the surface of furniture and other wood product parts with soft covering materials.
Zhongke Testing Reliability Experiment Center has the capability of reliability testing of various furniture surface coverings. The soft covering materials on the surface of furniture provide professional reliability testing services such as peel strength testing.
Scope of tests
Sheet-like covering materials that are rollable, highly flexible, and thin, such as polyvinyl chloride (PVC) plastic film, leather, artificial leather (synthetic leather), textiles, non-woven thin wood, metal foil, etc.
Test method
Use a mechanical testing machine to peel off the soft covering material from the surface of the base material at 180°, and observe and record the damage and maximum damage load on the bonded surface of the specimen.
1. Pre-stripping by hand: Turn the soft covering material 180° along the saw edge, and peel it off by hand until it is 40 mm~45 mm from the end of the specimen.
2. Install the test piece: Clamp the test piece on the upper and lower fixtures according to regulations, and the axis of the upper and lower fixtures should be consistent with the direction of movement of the fixture.
3. Start peeling: turn on the dynamic testing machine, make the lower clamp drop at a constant speed of (50±5) mm/min, and the peeling length is 20 mm~30 mm.
4. Record the maximum damage load: record the maximum damage load at the moment of peeling between the covering material and the base material.
