Test Background

Natural stone unit hanging strength test can determine the unit hanging strength of a single hanging stone combination.
Zhongke Testing Reliability Experiment Center has the capability of reliability testing of various natural stones, and provides professional reliability testing services such as unit hanging strength testing for natural stone products.

Scope of tests

Natural stone refers to the general name for materials that are mined from natural rock masses and processed into block or plate shapes.
The natural stones used for building decoration mainly include natural marble, natural jade (for decoration, non-commercial jade), granite, sandstone, slate, quartz-based stone, etc.

Test method

1. Place the sample in clean water at 20 ℃ ± 2 ℃, soak it for 48 hours, take it out, and wipe off the moisture on the surface of the sample with a wrung wet towel.
2. Install the sample on the platform and place a rubber pad between the fixture and the sample.
3. Apply load to the sample continuously and steadily according to the loading direction required by the project until it breaks. Record the maximum load when the sample breaks. The reading is accurate to 0.01 kN. The loading rate should ensure that the time from the stress on the specimen to the specimen failure is approximately 2 minutes.
4. Use a vernier caliper to measure the size of the damaged part of the sample, such as groove width, groove depth, hole diameter, hole depth, etc., accurate to 0.1 mm. Record the failure mode of the specimen.
