Long-term water absorption test of building insulation products

Long-term water absorption is an index that reflects the water absorption performance of insulation materials after 28 days of immersion, and is expressed in terms of long-term water absorption amount or long-term water absorption rate. Long-term water absorption refers to the water absorption mass per unit area after the sample is soaked for 28 days. The volume water absorption rate is the long-term water absorption rate. The long-term water absorption test of building insulation products can determine the long-term water absorption of building insulation products.

1. Partially immersed in
The long-term water absorption of partial immersion is measured by measuring the mass change of the sample after being partially exposed to water for 28 days. Excess water that is not absorbed by the specimen but adheres to the surface is removed by draining method 1A or initial water removal method 1B.
2. Fully immersed in
The long-term water absorption of total immersion is measured by measuring the mass change of the sample after it is completely immersed in water for 28 days. Excess water that is not absorbed by the sample but adheres to the surface shall be removed by method 2A draining method or method 2B initial water entrainment method.
