Test Background
The purpose of the durability test of non-metallic gasket materials is to determine the chemical curing status of the cement used to make cork gaskets, and is only used to indicate the expected use effect of the material under high temperatures and external environmental conditions.
Zhongke Testing Reliability Experiment Center has the capability to test the reliability performance of various non-metallic gasket materials, and provides professional reliability testing services such as durability testing, tensile strength testing, softness testing, compression rate rebound rate testing, etc. for cork gasket materials.
Test method
The chemical durability of the cement is determined by placing a sample of the material in a specific liquid and visually observing its disintegration.
Procedure A: Water Flotation Test
Place 75 mL of distilled water in the Erlenmeyer flask of the test device and allow the water to boil. Then place three samples into the liquid in the flask and test for 3 hours. At the end of the test, examine the specimen for any signs of disintegration.
Procedure B: Acid Flotation Test
Use an Erlenmeyer flask with a condensation reflux on top. Place 75 mL hydrochloric acid solution (mass concentration 35%) in an Erlenmeyer flask and let the solution boil. Then put three samples into the solution in the flask and test for 0.5h. At the end of the test, examine the specimen for any signs of disintegration.
Program C:
Oil floating test: Place 75mL of ASTM No. 1 oil in a metal container, and place the oil container in a circulating hot air oven to heat to 100°C. After the oil temperature reaches 100°C, place the three samples into the oil and maintain the test temperature for 2 hours.
At the end of the test, examine the specimen for any signs of disintegration.
