Test Background
The wear resistance test of electronic and electrical products is a test method to evaluate the impact of friction caused by fingers or other parts of the hand on markings and printed text on certain parts of electrical and electronic products (such as switches, plug-ins, operating handles or buttons, etc.).

Test method
The surface to be tested shall be repeatedly subjected to the stresses produced by the frictional movement of the test piston. The end of the piston is elastic and can deform to fit the surface being inspected. The material, hardness, shape, motion and angle of motion of the piston should be chosen to simulate the pressure and friction exerted by a human finger.
To obtain reproducible friction conditions, place a piece of fabric (either covering the piston or hanging as a curtain between the piston and the surface being inspected) between the piston and the surface being inspected.
The fabric may be dry (dry test) or soaked with a specified test liquid to take into account possible effects of fluid contamination during normal use (wet test), as determined by the relevant specification.
