Structural strength and impact test of electrical and electronic products-Physical Performance Testing-

Test Background

The purpose of the structural strength and impact test of electronic and electrical products is to evaluate the mechanical stress exerted on surface-mounted devices during and after installation. It is suitable for testing surface-mounted devices (SMDs) made of glass or sintered materials, such as capacitors, resistors and inductors containing ferrite.
Zhongke Testing Reliability Experiment Center has environmental testing capabilities for various electrical and electronic products, and provides professional structural strength and impact testing services for electrical and electronic products.

Test method

1. Structural strength test is used to evaluate the impact of external static force on the structural strength of the surface-mounted device when the surface-mounted device is directly installed vertically on the printed circuit board during installation. What is evaluated is the structural strength of the surface-mounted device, not the adhesion strength between the connection end of the device body and the surface of the welding point.
The structural strength test simulates the static forces exerted on a surface mount device by a relatively low-speed assembly machine during gripping and seating.
2. Impact test: used to evaluate the ability of surface-mounted devices to withstand mechanical impact.
The impact test simulates the dynamic forces generated by high-speed assembly machines gripping and shifting tools. Dynamic forces have different effects on devices than static forces.
