Test Background
The flex destructive resistance test of coated fabrics evaluates the overall appearance by taking into account all visible factors such as wrinkles, cracks, peeling and fading. Compare the specimens that have passed the flexure test with the specimens that have not passed the flexure test, and without amplification, determine the appearance deterioration grade according to these four levels: none, slight, moderate, and severe.

Test Principle
Method A (De Mattia method)
Fold the rectangular strip of coated fabric twice so that its long edges meet to form a 125 mm × 12,5 mm strip. This folded strip is installed between a pair of flat clamps, one of which can reciprocate, causing the folded specimen to bend outward 5 times per second. This high-speed folding of the specimen continues until a predetermined number of cycles or until the specimen is significantly damaged.
Method B (S childkmecht method)
A rectangular strip of coated fabric was placed around two opposing cylinders, giving the specimen a cylindrical shape. One of the cylinders reciprocates along its axis, causing the coated fabric to alternately compress and relax, causing folds in the specimen. This folding of the coated fabric cylinder continues until a predetermined number of cycles or until obvious damage to the specimen occurs.
Method C (wrinkle and flexure method)0
A rectangular strip of coated fabric specimen was sewn into a cylinder shape. The coated fabric cylinder is placed between two discs and fixed in its position, with one of them oscillating on its axis at approximately 90°. This will cause distortion of the coated fabric round specimen. 1
At the same time, the other disk reciprocates along its axis, compressing the circular specimen along its length. This twisting and compression of the cylindrical specimen continues until a predetermined number of cycles or until significant damage occurs to the specimen.
