Water penetration resistance test of coated fabrics

Water penetration resistance test of coated fabrics-Physical Performance Testing-

Test Background

When products made of coated fabrics are actually used in different working conditions, water penetration resistance is often used to measure the waterproof function of rubber or plastic coated fabrics. Some environmental factors can affect water penetration resistance, such as temperature, pressure, or chemicals in the water. The water penetration resistance of coated fabrics can be used to measure the water penetration resistance at low to high hydrostatic pressure levels at ambient temperatures.
Zhongke Testing Environmental Reliability Experiment Center has the ability to conduct environmental testing and reliability performance testing of various rubber or plastic coated fabric materials and products, and provides professional water penetration resistance testing services for coated fabrics.

Test Principle

One side of a coated fabric specimen is subjected to increasing water pressure under standard conditions until the specified pressure is reached, which pressure is obtained in the coated fabric specification. And maintain this pressure until the specified time or penetration occurs, whichever is fastest.

Test method

Water penetration resistance test of coated fabrics, there are two methods to determine the water penetration resistance (hydrostatic performance) of rubber or plastic coated fabrics when subjected to a specific hydrostatic pressure for a fixed period of time.
The procedures specified in Method A apply to both low and high hydrostatic pressures;
Method B specifies low hydrostatic pressure.

Test standard:

HG/T 2582-2022 Rubber or plastic coated fabrics - Determination of water penetration resistance
GB/T 24133-2009 Rubber or plastic coated fabrics Standard environment for conditioning and testing
HG/T 3050.1 Rubber or plastic coated fabrics - Determination of roll properties - Part 1: Methods for determination of length, width and net mass
