Tear resistance test of coated fabrics

Tear resistance test of coated fabrics-Physical Performance Testing-

Test Background

Tearing is one of the most common damage phenomena to many thin materials such as paper, coated or uncoated fabrics, plastic films, leather, etc. Therefore, the tear resistance properties of these materials are very important. The tear resistance test of coated fabrics involves tearing that starts from the initial cut and extends, including the impact pendulum method and the constant speed tearing method.
Zhongke Testing Environmental Reliability Experiment Center has the capabilities of environmental testing and reliability performance testing of various rubber or plastic coated fabric materials and products, and provides professional tear resistance testing services for coated fabrics.

Test Principle

Constant speed tearing method: Use the constant speed tearing method to determine the tearing properties of rubber or plastic coated fabrics.
Impact pendulum method: The pendulum is used to generate a sudden force that acts on the notched sample. The maximum amplitude produced by the first swing can characterize the tear strength of the sample.

Test method

The impact pendulum method specifies a kinetic determination of the kinetic energy of a falling pendulum.
The Constant Speed Tear Method specifies four methods for measuring tear using a constant speed traction tensile testing machine:
Method A: Tongue specimen tearing method
B: Trousers specimen tearing method
C: Trapezoidal specimen tearing method
D: Damaged specimen tearing method

Test standard:
