Coated fabric wicking performance test

Coated fabric wicking performance test-Physical Performance Testing-

Test Background

Wicking properties refer to the ability of the fiber to move liquid along the fiber walls of the coated fabric due to capillary action of the fiber. The coated fabric wicking performance test refers to a method for testing the wicking performance of rubber or plastic-coated fabrics that are coated on one or both sides.
Zhongke Testing Environmental Reliability Experiment Center has the capabilities of environmental testing and reliability performance testing of various rubber or plastic coated fabric materials and products, and provides professional wicking performance testing services for coated fabrics.

Scope of tests

Method A: Suitable for making coated fabrics of non-liquid-filled products, such as tarpaulins, advertising cloths, tarpaulins, oil booms, etc.;
Method B: Suitable for making coated fabrics for liquid-filled products, such as soft storage and transportation oil (water) tanks, rubber dams, etc.

Test Principle

Dip one end of the coated fabric sample into the dyeing solution, wick the fiber reinforcement layer to dye, and determine the wicking performance of the coated fabric based on the length of the fiber reinforcement layer dyed within a certain period of time.

Test standard:

GB/T 37890-2019 Rubber or plastic coated fabrics Wicking performance test method
GB/T 6682 Specifications and test methods for water used in analytical laboratories
GB/T 24133 Rubber or plastic coated fabrics Standard environment for conditioning and testing
