Test Background

The atomization performance of automobile interior materials refers to the method for measuring the atomization performance of rubber or plastic-coated fabrics for interior decoration materials of motor vehicles. Through the atomization test of automobile interior decoration materials, volatile substances in automobile interior decoration materials can be controlled, thereby effectively reducing environmental pollution in automobiles.

Scope of tests

The atomization performance test of automobile interior parts is suitable for the evaluation of the evaporation of volatile components of automobile interior materials, polyurethane, textiles, leather, adhesives, non-woven fabrics, thermoplastic elastomers and other materials at high temperatures. It can also be used to measure the high-temperature atomization phenomenon of xenon lamps in front of cars.

Test Principle

The sample is heated in a glass beaker and any volatile components are condensed on a glass slide or in an aluminum foil dish.
The percentage of the reflection value of the same glass piece after atomization and condensation to the reflection value without atomization and condensation is the atomization value (F).
The mass of the condensate component (G) is the difference in mass between the aluminum foil pan with the condensate and the aluminum foil pan itself.
