Test Background
The water immersion test of transport packages is suitable for evaluating the ability of transport packages to withstand water immersion damage and the ability of the packaging to protect the contents. It can be used as a single test or as a component of a series of tests. It can also be used as a pretreatment test before conducting other tests.
Zhongke Testing Environmental Reliability Experiment Center has various environmental testing equipment for transportation packages, has environmental testing and product reliability performance testing capabilities, and provides professional water immersion testing services for transportation packages.
Test method
1. Fill the water tank with water to a certain depth. The water temperature should be selected within the range of 5~40℃. During the immersion process, the water temperature should change within ±2℃.
2. Put the test sample into the water immersion device, immerse it in the water together, and keep it for a certain time. The holding time can be selected from 5, 15, 30 min or 1, 2, or 4 h.
3. After reaching the predetermined time, lift the test sample out of the water at a speed of no more than 300 mm/min.
4. Place the test sample on the grid in a predetermined state so that it is exposed to the predetermined atmospheric conditions. Exposure time is selected from 4.8, 16, 24, 48, 72h or 1, 2, 3, 4 weeks.
5. Record any obvious damage or any other changes caused by watering, draining, and drying of the test sample.
Check the packaging and contents for damage according to relevant standards or regulations, and analyze the test results.
