Test Background
If the bend of the optical fiber is too large, part of the optical signal will not be able to pass through, which will lead to a decrease in transmission power. As a result, the quality of the signal received by the receiving end will become worse, and the network speed will naturally slow down. The fiber optic cable repeated bend test determines the ability of the fiber optic cable to withstand repeated bending.
Repeated bending of optical cables with connectors is tested as a unit to test the ability of the optical cable assembly (with connectors) to withstand repeated bending.
Zhongke Testing Reliability Experiment Center has the mechanical properties of various optical cables and provides professional repeated bending test services for optical cables.
Scope of tests
1. According to different transmission performance, distance and purpose, optical cables can be divided into user optical cables, local optical cables, long-distance optical cables and submarine optical cables.
2. According to the different conditions of transmission conductors and media, optical cables can be divided into metal-free optical cables, ordinary optical cables, and comprehensive optical cables (mainly used for railway dedicated network communication lines).
3. According to different laying methods, optical cables can be divided into pipeline optical cables, direct buried optical cables, aerial optical cables and underwater optical cables.
4. According to different structural methods, optical cables can be divided into flat structure optical cables, layered optical cables, skeleton optical cables, armored optical cables and high-density user optical cables.
Test method
1. Pretreat the sample for 24 hours under standard test conditions;
2. Fix the sample to the equipment;
3. Add heavy objects as specified in the detailed specifications;
4. According to the measurement qualification criterion parameters, measure the original value;
5. Perform repeated bending according to the specified number of cycles;
6. Measure the qualification criterion parameters. When necessary, take the sample out of the equipment for visual inspection.
