Test Background
The optical cable flattening test can simulate the situation where the optical cable is crushed by people or vehicles during construction and use to determine the ability of the optical cable to withstand flattening. During the test, the optical fiber in the optical cable is not damaged, and the attenuation change value should be ensured to be within a reasonable range.
Zhongke Testing Reliability Experiment Center has the mechanical properties of various optical cables and provides professional flattening test services for optical cables.
Scope of tests
1. According to different transmission performance, distance and purpose, optical cables can be divided into user optical cables, local optical cables, long-distance optical cables and submarine optical cables.
2. According to the different conditions of transmission conductors and media, optical cables can be divided into metal-free optical cables, ordinary optical cables, and comprehensive optical cables (mainly used for railway dedicated network communication lines).
3. According to different laying methods, optical cables can be divided into pipeline optical cables, direct buried optical cables, aerial optical cables and underwater optical cables.
4. According to different structural methods, optical cables can be divided into flat structure optical cables, layered optical cables, skeleton optical cables, armored optical cables and high-density user optical cables.
Test method
1. The specimen should be placed between two steel plates to prevent lateral movement, and then the force should be applied gradually without any sudden changes. If the force is increased in steps, the increase ratio should not exceed 1.5:1.
2. Unless otherwise specified in the detailed specifications, the applied flattening force should be increased to the value(s) specified in the detailed specifications, such as the long-term allowable flattening force and the maximum allowable flattening force (usually the short-term allowable flattening force), and should be monitored after a holding time of at least 1 minute, and then the flattening force should be gradually removed, and final monitoring and inspection should be performed after 5 minutes.
