Test Background
Rigid foam plastics refer to foam plastics that have no flexibility, high compression hardness, can deform when the stress reaches a certain value, and cannot return to their original shape after the stress is relieved. They can be used as thermal insulation materials, sandwich materials, packaging materials, sound insulation and earthquake-proof materials, building materials, etc. The compression creep test of rigid foam plastics can determine the compression creep performance of rigid foam plastics under specified load and temperature conditions.

Scope of tests
Rigid foam plastics mainly include: polystyrene foam, phenolic foam, polycarbonate foam, epoxy foam, rigid polyvinyl chloride, most polyolefin foams and some polyurethane foams.
Test method
Compressive deformation occurs under specified different loads and temperatures, and the change of compressive strain with time is measured.
1. After the sample is adjusted, measure the thickness. Measure at least four points on each sample, accurate to 0.1 mm, and calculate the average thickness H1.
2. Adjust the test chamber to meet the specified standard environment. Place the sample on the loading device in the test chamber and apply the selected pressure evenly without impact. After 48 hours, measure the thickness H2 in the test chamber without unloading the load.
3. Adjust the test chamber to the corresponding temperature to make it meet the requirements. When the temperature reaches the temperature, start timing. When the specified corresponding time is reached, measure the thickness H3 in the test chamber without unloading.
