Test Background

Rigid foam plastics refer to foam plastics that have no flexibility, high compression hardness, can deform when the stress reaches a certain value, and cannot return to their original shape after the stress is relieved. They can be used as thermal insulation materials, sandwich materials, packaging materials, sound insulation and earthquake-proof materials, building materials, etc.
The rigid foam bending test can measure the load or breaking load of a rigid foam sample under specified deformation under a three-point bending load.
Zhongke Testing Reliability Experiment Center has the capability of reliability testing of various rigid foam plastics and provides professional bending test services for rigid foam plastics.

Scope of tests

Rigid foam plastics mainly include: polystyrene foam, phenolic foam, polycarbonate foam, epoxy foam, rigid polyvinyl chloride, most polyolefin foams and some polyurethane foams.

Test method

The load head applies a load to the sample supported on the two supports at a certain speed. The load should be applied perpendicular to the sample at the center of the two points. Record the load value or fracture load value when the sample reaches the specified deformation.
