Test Background
Prepreg is generally made of a resin matrix impregnated with continuous reinforcing fibers. It can be processed at room temperature, such as paving it into a blank, and then solidifying it in an autoclave to prepare composite parts. Prepreg is an intermediate base material for preparing composite materials. Its quality directly affects the quality of composite components. Its basic requirements are: the performance of prepreg must meet the requirements of the molding process, such as degree of prepolymerization, gel time, spreadability, curing performance, etc.; The prepreg tensile strength test can measure the tensile strength of unidirectional prepregs using carbon fiber, glass fiber, aramid fiber, etc. as reinforcing materials and thermosetting resin as the matrix.
Zhongke Testing Reliability Experiment Center has the capability of reliability testing of various prepregs and provides professional tensile strength testing services for prepregs.
Scope of tests
1. According to different physical states, it is divided into unidirectional prepreg, unidirectional fabric prepreg and fabric prepreg;
2. According to different resin matrices, prepregs are divided into thermosetting resin prepregs and thermoplastic resin prepregs;
3. According to different reinforcing materials, it is divided into carbon fiber (fabric) prepreg, glass fiber (fabric) prepreg, and aramid (fabric) prepreg;
4. According to different fiber lengths, it is divided into short fiber (below 4176mm) prepreg, long fiber (1217mm) prepreg and continuous fiber prepreg;
5. According to different curing temperatures, they are divided into medium-temperature curing (120°C) prepregs, high-temperature curing (180°C) prepregs, and prepregs with curing temperatures exceeding 200°C.
Test method
Tensile load the unidirectional prepreg sample with the reinforcement sheet adhered to it on the testing machine until failure, record the failure load, and calculate the tensile strength of the prepreg.
