Test Background
The fiber-reinforced plastic axial tensile test can determine the axial tensile strength, tensile modulus and elongation at break of fiber-reinforced thermosetting plastic pipes. Fiber-reinforced thermosetting plastic pipes refer to tubular products that use inorganic or organic fibers (or their products) as reinforcing materials and thermosetting resin as the matrix.

Scope of tests
Commonly used fiber-reinforced plastics include polypropylene (PP), polyethylene (PE), polyester (PET) and other high-molecular polymers and high-purity natural wood, as well as some man-made fibers (cellulose fibers), glass-reinforced resins and metal fibers.
It can be divided into three categories according to its molding methods: thermoplastic resin, thermosetting resin, and polycarbonate.
Test method
1. When measuring the elastic modulus, there is an automatic recording device for continuous loading. Otherwise, the loading should be graded. The gauge length of the measuring instrument should not be less than 50 mm. Loading speed is as specified.
2. When using graded loading to measure the elastic modulus, it should be divided into at least five levels. The maximum load applied should not exceed the elastic deformation range of the material. Record the loads at each level and the corresponding deformation values.
3. If the elongation at break is measured, the load should be continuously loaded, and the total elongation within the measurement gauge length when the sample breaks is recorded.
